Af- ter his retirement from the Regular Force in 1992, he served as a full- time Supplementary Reservist and commanded Connaught Range and Primary Training Centre (Ottawa). Charles has served as the AFP/ACC liaison officer and then National Treasurer since 1998. Sharon (Rapp) Halayko grew up in a proud Canadian military family before marrying into another career military family. She learned a great deal about many facets of military life and operations from her moth- er Helen (nee Villeneuve) Rapp, a Bomb Girl who made Bofors guns for the Navy before joining the Ca- nadian Women’s Army Corps, after which she was posted to the Direc- torate of Signals in Ottawa during WWII. Sharon’s father, Frank Rapp, was a permanent force soldier before WWII, attached to RCCS serving in the Northwest Territories and Yukon before going overseas. Later, he was transferred to the RCAF to provide wireless expertise for the bases being set up in Europe. After grad- uating from college with a diploma in Business Administration, with a specialty in Data Processing, Sha- ron worked for IBM and Statistics Canada. She had a front-row seat for the founding of AFP/AAC, whose board she joined in 2009. She brings tremendous legacy knowledge of the organization to her role as vice-chair of widows’ issues. Cindy McCabe is a Certified Manage- ment Accountant (CMA) with over 25 years of progressive financial, corporate and operational manage- ment positions. Cindy graduated from Carleton University with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science. After obtaining her CMA designation in 1992, she went on to hold various senior accounting po- sitions at Boeing, General Dynam- ics, Psion and Teklogix; she now works at NAV CANADA in the Ottawa office. As a senior finance manager, Cindy’s skills include providing effective direction and leadership in the areas of business planning, analysis, and day-to-day operations. Cindy has served as the AFP/AAC board’s National Vice- Chair, Administration, since 2013.
